If you like deals as much as I do, you HAVE to join local garage sale pages on Facebook. I know what you're thinking: Isn't that a little creepy to meet up with random strangers and buy things from them? Don't think Craigslist here. I've met many people to buy and sell things, and they have all been really nice and honest!
You can find some AH-MAZE-ING prices on items you need or want. Some of the best things I've found so far have been:
-a Gazelle workout machine for $25
-saucer chairs for my classroom new with tags for $10 each
-a bean bag for my classroom for $7
-books for my classroom for $2 and $3
Not only can you get things for great prices, you can also post things for other people to buy! Spring cleaning and want to get rid of random household items still in good condition? Post it! Sell it! No more clutter and more money in hand to pay bills. Make crafts and want to market to a wider audience? Post it! Sell it! You wouldn't believe how many people are on these garage sale sites. Side note: One of the ways I raised money for my mission trip to Africa in June was selling things I never used or no longer needed on these sites.
Like to actually go garage saleing on the weekends?! I know I do! Look no further. Many garage sale addresses are posted with pictures, descriptions, and prices, so you can decide if it is worth your while to drive across town before you waste your gas and time.
Happy deal hunting!
